Find and Test Wireless Networks Quickly and Easily
|
| |
Wireless networks are becoming more and more common so here are two great tools for anyone using,
installing or configuring wireless networks and the great part is they can be used completely stand-alone without the need for a laptop.

Wi-Net Window Wireless Network Tester
The Wi-Net Window wireless network tester is ideal for network installers and managers who need to identify and configure wireless
equipment. The standalone device allows the user to check coverage of access points by showing signal strength, range and availability
points.
The tester scans for all IEE802.11a, b and g wireless networks in the vicinity and the LCD displays the SSID,
channel number, signal strength, whether encryption is being used and what type, the Wi-Net Window’s IP address, the router's IP
address and MAC address of the access point.
After the tester sends a ‘ping’ to the internet, the display shows whether internet access is available through the
WLAN. If two WLAN’s are using the same SSID and channel, the tester displays a twin

having to power up their laptop. Compliant to USB 2.0 the hotspot finder scans for networks in the vicinity indicating SSID,
Channel, encryption (WEP, WPA or none) and signal strength. It's powered by rechargeable battery which charge themselves
